Berlin - May 2009

Berlin Trip May 2009.
40 Year 10’s had a scorching time in Berlin over the bank holiday weekend on their GCSE History trip.  Setting off early on the Friday and returning late on the Monday with the History team, the pupils really enjoyed the rich history of the capital of Germany – the base of Imperial Germany, Hitler’s Nazi regime and the infamous Berlin Wall.  They also got a chance to see how the city was fast becoming one of Europe’s most modern and exciting cities.  Visits to the Reichstag, Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Wall, the Holocaust Memorial and Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp were also supplemented with a bit of bowling, shopping, sunbathing on the beach and a fair few Subways and Starbucks!

We hope you enjoy these selected photo’s (there are many more on the History pages of the VLE) and are eagerly awaiting the students take on this trip.
