The Charter School

 

We now have a very active mentoring programme for our 6 form students.  Huge thanks to our business partners, PWC, SJ Berwin and IPC Media for their support in this.  This programme is most suited to our A level students as their timetables are more flexible and it is easier for them to travel to the mentors offices which are mostly in the City of London.

 

The time commitment is roughly an hour a month depending on the availability of the mentor.    Mentoring training and the necessary CRB checks can be organised through Southwark’s Education and Business Alliance department.

 

Mentoring can be subject specific for example maths or a modern foreign language or it can be a general support. Our young people who have already been lucky enough to be involved in the programme have found the support of an adult who is not a teacher, parent or family friend invaluable.
