Year 9 About the exam
You are going to be tested in four areas                DEVELOPMENT
HAZARDS
CLIMATE CHANGE
CHINA
·        The exam will allow you to apply your knowledge and the skills gained throughout year 9.
for example….Describing, explaining, manipulating data, interpreting text, interpreting maps and diagrams, predicting outcomes, identify different points of view, making judgements and evaluation opinion and effects.
·        Think about what you know, how you have learned and apply those skills and ideas to each question in the exam.
·        Total time 45 minutes
 
Command words – These tell you what to do, think about them carefully as you answer each question.
 
EXPLAIN – say why
DESCRIBE – State facts, what it looks like, position
SUGGEST AND EXPLAIN – Your ideas and why (base these on facts)
NAME – e.g. The name of a place or list
COMPLETE – Finish off a chart or diagram
SUGGEST WAYS – Your ideas on why something is like it is
CIRCLE – Draw a circle around the correct answer.
